Baltic Cable AB is the sole owner and operator of the Baltic Cable interconnector – a vital subsea electricity link connecting the power grids of Germany and Sweden. For more than 30 years, we have enabled cross‑border power exchange and strengthened Europe’s integrated energy market.
Through our asset – an underwater high‑voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line - we provide stable and reliable capacity that supports a secure, competitive and increasingly renewable European electricity system. Thanks to market coupling, Baltic Cable ensures that clean energy can flow efficiently to where it is needed most. As an Interconnector Transmission system Operator (TSO), we strengthen the European electricity system by enabling the exchange of electricity between the two countries, improving the efficiency, reliability and stability of the power supply in the region.
